I'm thinking about getting braces but I'm scared to death. Does it hurt while they are putting on the braces? And I have a tooth that grew behind my baby tooth. What should I do about it? Can the braces take care of it?

I think that the best first step would be a consultation with an orthodontist to see what your options really are. It's tough to diagnose something like this without an exam and x-rays. Some people report some discomfort when braces are adjusted ( Advil or Tylenol usually works great), but putting them on is usually no big deal.

Less painful than you probably think
Everyone reacts differently, but most people are only slightly put off by the discomfort of braces. Putting them on is next to nothing in discomfort. Most patients have remarked that there is minimal to zero pain. Most discomfort is easily treated with Tylenol and the like.
As far as the baby tooth, it likely would need to be removed. After that, the braces can put the adult tooth in its rightful spot.
It would be best to see a dentist for them to actually see your condition....
