Botox for Temporary Non Surgical Breast Lift Procedure?

I remembered years ago, I watched a talk show that brought plastic surgeons as guests on their show. A plastic surgeon gave a patient botox to her saggy breasts, and her breasts became perky. The plastic surgeon featured on the show said this treatment hasn't been approve to FDA yet and its lasted 6 months to a year. Whatever happened to that treatment?

Botox for nonsurgical breast lift?

This procedure does exist.  It is still not FDA approved.  But it works very well. There are two sets of pectoral muscles, ones that pull up and ones that pull down.  If the ones that pull down are injected with Botox, their action is diminished and the action of the muscles that pull up is more visible, bringing the breast up, probably 1/2 inch to an inch. It is a nice, non-surgical way to give the breasts a lift.

Botox for Breastlift?

Thank you for the question. Botox will absolutely not be effective for breast lifting. Be very careful about believing information sounds too good to be true.

Botox for breast lift

This really doesn't work. The muscles that were injected do not effect breast position. For more details, see the video on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons website (Search for Botox Breast Lift).

Botox Breast Lift

You haven't heard anything more about it likely because it does not work. Botox relaxes muscles, and that is it's mechanism of action. Lifting sagging breast, which result from loosening of ligaments, breast tissue and skin, it cannot do...a mastopexy is the gold standard. See a board certified plastic surgeon who will help you figure this out. Never believe everything you see on TV! Good Luck! Dr. C johnconnorsmd.com

Botox - sagging breasts

It is possible that this was done, but just because you've seen something on TV doesn't mean that it is the best treatment. If you have sagging breasts that you'd like treated, I'd recommend seeking a consultation with a plastic surgeon and having him/her do a complete evaluation based on your individual anatomy. Botox for saggy breasts?

Hi AG.  You should run away quickly from any physician that proposes to improve your saggy breasts with Botox.  You will be disappointed with the results and the effect it had on your pocketbook.

Botox for non surgical breast lift.

The anatomy of the breast is not conducive to this.  Botox stops the muscle from moving.  The muscles are not dragging the breast down.  This is not a good indication for Botox.

Botox for Breast Lift - No!

Breasts droop due to skin stretching and the Coopers ligaments in the breast elongating.  Coopers ligaments are the internal support structure of the breast and they span from the pectoral muscle to the skin.  They are firm and tight when patients are young but with aging, weight gain and pregnancy they are stretched and lose their tone and the breasts sag.  The pectoral muscles have very little to do with it.  Botoxs only action is to temporarily paralyse muscles... more

Perky Breasts and Botox

Hi Anon Girl, You ask a titillating question, but me thinks ice cubes will work better at "perking up" those breasts more than Botox...and it will save you money for those shoes as well.  That's the "breast" I can do in answering your question.  Good luck and be well. Dr. P

Botox for breast lift

I don't peform this procedure, but if the muscles below the breast are injected with Botox as an off-label procedure, then the muscles above the breast may compensate when the lower muscles can't contract as much, thereby elevating the breast. Although there may be a huge skeptical attitude by many physicians about this, it is possible that if more physicians tried it (which I am not advocating) that the results might be realized. This scenario developed an accepted attitude... more

Botox Breast Lift?

This procedure has been described and does exist.  However, is it a good idea? and is it long-lasting and dramatic?  The answers are probably; no,no, and no.  The breast becomes ptotic or droopy due to the  reasons described already; i.e. skin stretching and loss of breast volume.  Botox does not address this.  Also, use of Botox to weaken the pectoralis muscles, would last ? 3-4mo. and probably require a large amount of Botox.

Botox Not Recommended for Breast Ptosis

I do not feel that there is any indication for the use of Botox to correct breast sagging.  The pectoral muscles act indirectly at best on the breasts.  Sagging of the breasts is caused by loss of elasticity of the skin and a relative excess of skin.  I cannot conceive how any amount of Botox will correct this.  Correction of breast ptosis is a surgical problem which must be addressed surgically.

It is very difficult at time for experts to distinguish nonsense from real advances.

Dear Anonymousgirl Everyday surgeons are out there having stories pitched by public relations people.  It might be something like describing tumescent liposuction under local anesthesia as a new method which was done recently on The Doctors even though the method was developed by dermatologists in the mid eighties.  And of course news shows love these stories because they know they know that this type of story can be used as a teaser story to get you to watch 25 minutes of... more

Botox breast lift is bogus

Ideas like this get a lot of traction in the media but in this case it's bogus in my opinion. The concept is that by relaxing the chest muscles with Botox injections, the posture is changed with the shoulders held higher so the breasts look less saggy. Or you could just think about your posture and get the same effect for free.

Don't think Botox breast lift works

I was at a meeting and a Mexican physician, well respected, showed this.  The problem was that the photos didn't show the arms.  I believe the arms were down in the before and up in the after.  I can't see how this works.  I think only 45 units per breast were used.  We use that much on the glabella in some people, which is a much smaller muscle than the pectoralis.  I wouldn't waste your money.

Botox Breast Lift: If you believe that...I've got a bridge to sell you

This is one of those things that is too good to be true. If botox could reverse gravity, we could discard our scalpels and use if for face lifts and tummy tucks. However, it is not a realistic option for the average person presenting with breast ptosis and for the most part, it remains and invention of the PR agent.

Botox breast lift?

What happened to the Botox breast lift is that it doesn't work.  If treating the muscles could lift the breast, then exercise could change breast shape as well, but that doesn't happen.  Breasts sag because of skin and breast tissue anatomy, not muscle anatomy.

Botox and breast lifts

Botox works to paralyze muscles.  It doesn't even make sense that botox would "lift" the breasts. Paralyzing the pec muscle would have no impact on the breast .
