I had open rhinoplasty 3 weeks ago to correct a small hump that was on my nose. During the surgery my surgeon thought my bridge looked to low after the bump was removed and then unexpectedly had to build my bridge back up with cartlidge. I'm now seeing a bump on bridge as my swelling has gone down. The bump is hard and my swelling going down just makes it look worse. He said to tape and wait. Did he add too much cartilage? Or is this extra swelling? How would I fix eventually if the bump stays?

I do not know of any one who would routinely replace the septum with rib cartilage. If the entire septum is removed and replaced it is performed extracorporeal and not performed commonly in most cases.
It appears that you would like your tip counterrotated (downward) with less nostril show. This can be accomplished with either endonasal or open rhinoplasty. Some cartilage grafting may be necessary as well.
