Surgeon to Do Local Anesthesia for Body Jet Lipo?

I will be having Body Jet Liposuction done on the 21st of this month. I asked for an anesthesiologist to do local anesthesia, but my doctor said he has to move his equipment to another office/hospital in order to do that for me, and he will be doing the local himself. Is that okay or safe to do? Shouldn't an anesthesiolgst be doing that even if its only local? Thank you.

Liposuction requires anesthesiologist.

Hi. 1)  Insist on an accredited operating room and recovery room, and on a board certified anesthesiologist. 2)  Body Jet Liposuction is not a scientifically proven technique.

I am not familiar with the "jet" liposuction. The local anesthesia you describe sounds like tumescent fluid, and this is really part of the surgical procedure, not anesthesia. Therefore, the surgeon puts this in. However, it also sounds like you will be awake. Some surgeons & patients choose this type of anesthesia their own reasons. I personally prefer to use general anesthesia with the tumescent technique. sek
