Blood Tests for a Brazilian Butt Lift

+2

Every surgical facility has its own rules on what tests, if any, a person should have before undergoing an operation under general or intravenous sedation anesthesia. Frequently, it is as simple as a urine pregnancy test in younf women but in those over 35 it may be an EKG, blood count and a blood chemistry. Surgeon go along with the anesthesiologists' preferences because no one ever wants to be in a complication which could have been potentially prevented with a simple test.

Brazilian Butt Lift

+2

Brazilian Butt Lift requires Liposuction of several areas of the body, cleaning the fat and transfering the pure fat to the buttocks. the combination of liposuction around the buttocks and the fat transfer will enhance the buttocks. This will require general anesthesia and atleast 4 + hours of surgery.

You will need Full History and pPhysical Examination and full Blood Work before doing any surgery. Clearance by your medical doctor and depending on age, history may need an EKG and Chest X-Ray. This is done to assure your suitability for surgery and your safety.

Hi there-

Without knowing more about you, your health history, and the details of your planned or desired operation, it would be irresponsible to answer your question.

Generally, blood work is not required before a Brazilian Butt Lift for healthy young women. When patients are over a certain age, or if there are medical problems to consider, testing of some kind may be recommended.

Your best bet is to find a skilled and talented surgeon Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery who you like and feel you can trust and visit for a consultation. After achieving a better understanding of these important details, that surgeon will be able to advise you on how to best prepare for a safe and comfortable experience.

Is bllod work required for the BBL?

+1

While not every center requires blood work prior to the BBL on healthy women, in our center any patient who undergoes general anesthesia has blood testing. This is a simple measure but in a few cases the blood work-up can be abnormal even in young healthy women. Safety should always prevail.
