Can a Birthmark Be Removed with a Scalpel ?

I have had a birthmark on my left arm since birth . I use to get bullied and teased about it . When I was older I got depressed and self mutilated myself to try and get rid of it .this has left bad scars . I was wondering if you could get it removed with a scalpel ? please someone help me !

Birthmark removal

Anything can be removed. Surgeons can cut anything out with a scalpel. If you are willing to accept a scar in it's place then consider it. What would you prefer-- a scar or what you have now? Although most scars heal well and fade, they are permanent.

Birthmark removal

Birthmarks or any skin lesion for that matter can be surgically excised, although you will always be left with some sort of scar. That said, I've also had patients that too on and around birthmarks or other skin lesions and have been pleased with the results.
