Birth Control (IUD) Before Labiaplasty and LVR

I am having a labiaplasty as well as a laser vaginal rejuvination procedure performed. I am interested in having an IUD inserted to prevent pregnancy. How long after my surgery should i wait to have the IUD put in, or would this no longer be a good option of birth control for me?

Labiaplasty, Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and IUD

The IUD should be able to placed approximately 4 weeks after surgery but will have to be placed gently. Discuss this with your surgeon prior to surgery. see video

The IUD after LVR and labiaplasty

The IUD is still a reasonable option.  Double check with your surgeon as healing varies by patient. Generally speaking, you should be able to have this inserted within a few weeks after your LVR.
