I had got fine contour threads absorbable a year back. What is still apparent is mild elevation of skin in a strange way and tightening in the threads area because of excess fibrosis. Now I am considering face lift, however talking to a Dr friend(not plastic surgeon) who raised a concern that face lift could complicate the fibrosis as dissection of skin in that area would lead to more scar tissue and hence more damage in that area. Please advise, if face lift solves the problem or complicates!
Answer: A Good Facelift Can Fix A Bad Threadlift The answer to your question is that the threads from a prior threadlift will not complicate performing a threadlift. When the threads appear in the path of dissection, they will be removed. However, many of the threads may not be encountered, and it is not necessary that they all be removed in order for a facelift to fix the elevation and tightening of the skin of which you complain. The facelift will allow the release of the skin and soft tissues distorted by the threads or the fibrosis they engendered. It will then allow the application of different vectors of pull to the skin and soft tissues so that they can be redraped and made smoother in the process. This should do the trick.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Can I have a facelift after having a thread lift? In short, the answer is yes!Whilst there will be scar tissue/fibrosis from the thread lift (which is how it works to provide a lift), it is perfectly possible (and safe) to perform a facelift a year down the line.Just ensure you see a fully accredited board certified plastic surgeon Good luck!

Answer: Facelift in the wake of a thread lift. The presence of the threads is only a modest problem for an anticipated facelift. If still present they can be removed. In any fibrosis encountered can be excised although I doubt is going to be substantial. I don't think you have much to worry about.

Answer: Facelift after a Thread Lift Dear ManishaK,There would be no problem getting a facelift after having prior thread lift. Having performed a number of facelifts on patients who had previous thread lifts, I found that the amount of fibrosis is minimal and does not interfere with the tissue dissection. You should still expect a great result with facelift.Best wishes!Dr. Konstantin

Answer: Contour threads These contour threads were quite popular 8-10 years ago and many plastic surgeons have had to deal with these in the setting of a face lift. They are generally easy to find and remove. Any traction dimples that they cause generally go away with some additional dissection. Having these is not a contraindication for a face lift.
