What Happens to my Belly if I Lose Weight After a Tummy Tuck?

Consequences of weight loss AFTER a Tummy Tuck

+1

Minor weight losses do not impact on the results of a Tummy Tuck. But MAJOR weight losses cause deflation of the fat under the skin and as a result there may be a varying degree of skin looseness much like a sail when the wind goes away. For this reason, ideally you should be at your ideal weight or close to it when having a Tummy Tuck procedure.

Weight Loss following Tummy Tuck

+1

Patients who at their ideal weight obtain the best results with a tummy tuck.  They are not likely to have a significant weight loss post-operatively.  If a patient is moderately overweight at the time of tummy tuck and then has a significant weight loss, he/she may then have some relative skin excess.
