Hi, I just got some veneers on six of my upper teeth, i feel like they're way too big for my mouth and it just feels weird and bulky and heavy, i cant eat properly. Are they supposed to feel like my old natural teeth? cause if they are, then i do not want to feel this way forever, is there any way i can get them off?
Answer: #Veneers feeling bulky ? ... #DrSoftTouch Hello there,Sorry to hear that your six veneers feel bulky. If you had non-prep veneers (like Lumineers), I would expect your veneers to feel a little bulky. However, if you had normal veneers, then I would not expect your teeth to feel bulky. Of course, I was not there in the treatment room with you to see what your starting point was, so I can not say that your dentist did not do a good job. In my practice, we take measures to prevent this type of thing from happening. Ultimately, your veneers should look and feel natural. If you find that the bulkiness is something that you can not grow accustomed to in the next 4-6 weeks, then I would recommend having your veneers redone. Good luck and I hope this helps. Answer: Bulky Veneers should be replaced If you imagine the mouth as a theatre, the lips are the curtains, the inside of the mouth is the stage, and the teeth are the individual actors. For a beautiful performance, everything has to blend together artistically. In other words, the best results from a Smile Makeover are achieved by considering the “big picture”. Bulky veneers means that the lab may have overcontoured the veneers or the dentist may have underprepared them. It will feel somewhat different from your own teeth in the beginning, but that should change after a couple of weeks. I also agree that 6 veneers is not a good idea and may be contributing to what we call a "negative space" issue. Ask your dentist to see what they can do for you.

Answer: Replacement may best best Well placed veneers should feel natural and comfortable AND look fantastic. As mentioned, 6 veneers usually is a disaster and may be the main issue. Since I am nearby (Tukwila) I would be happy to take a look and evaluate.

Answer: Bulky veneers You didn't mention how long ago you got the veneers done, but you may still be adapting to a little more fullness in your lip. You didn't post a before picture so it's difficult for me to judge thickness. Another part of the problem may be that you only did 6 veneers. I normally encourage patients not to stop on the front 6 teeth because it often does give the sense of these teeth being large and the ones behind the veneers look like they are too small. The best answer is to return to the dentist who did the veneers and discuss how he can fix the problem. If you have concerns you may also want to get a second opinion from another dentist. Leaving the veneers off isn't the answer, veneers can be made to feel very natural. Sorry that you have had a disappointing experience.

Answer: Veneers Veneers should feel comfortable and look great as well as function well. You didn't give the reason you had the veneers done. If they were done to close gaps between the teeth or make small teeth larger, than they may feel bulky and weird to you for a while. If it was to change the color and correct minor irregularities, then yes, they should feel natural to you. You can always get a second opinion or evaluation, but I would approach your dentist first , explain what your concerns are, and see what can be done including removing them and having them redone.
