What can I do before and after a procedure to minimize bruising? I have an external DCR scheduled in 3 weeks. I previously had a failed tear duct procedure that caused terrible bruising, resulting in a dark rust-colored stain (subsequently removed by expensive laser treatment). I previously tried avoiding aspirin and blood thinners, using arnica before and after surgery, icing after surgery, sleeping with my head elevated, etc. What more can I do this time(maybe icing before surgery?)

It seems to me that you are doing all the correct thing. You also need to avoid Advil type meds several days before surgery. good luck
