I have lost 147 pounds. I would really like to get rid of this extra skin because I would like to normal in a bra without this loose skin spilling over. What is the best way to get rid of it? Is is lipo? Is it removed during a breast procedure. I was told it could be fixed with a brachioplasty with axillary extension. I was told by another surgeon that the the axillary extension would make that area really tight for awhile. Thank you!
Answer: Upper Body Lift Congratulations on your weight loss. Excess skin at the side of your chest (bra roll) can often be corrected along with an arm and breast lift, because those areas are usually all saggy after weight loss. There is really no way to modify either an arm lift or a breast lift to get rid of significant bra roll skin. The operations just aren't designed to do that. This requires a separate procedure, even though they all can be done at the same time. I was unhappy with the traditional scar that crosses the back, so re-designed the operation to have less visible scars.I put a link below so you can see some results.

CONTACT NOW Answer: What is the best treatment to get rid of the extra skin underneath the bra strap region after major weight loss? Extra skin cannot be removed by liposuction - only extra fat can be removed using lipo. The best way to remove extra skin is to cut it out. Hard to say without a photo whether or not an extended brachioplasty will work or if it can be removed through a breast lift procedure. Please consider re-posting your question with photos.Best wishes,Gary Horndeski M.D.

Answer: Massive weight loss and body contouring Thank you for your question and congrats on the weight loss. To help contour the body after this amount of weight loss usually entails removing skin as liposuction does not tighten. Examples include:1) brachioplasty for the upper arms, 2) upper back lift for the bra rolls in the back3) tummy tuck for the abdominal region4) thigh lift for the excess skin of the thighs5) lower back lift to lift the buttocks and remove skin laxity of the lower back6) breast lift/augmentation to restore fullness and shape the to the breastIt is usually too much to consider all these at once, so it is careful planning coupled with addressing your areas of greatest concern. I would visit with a board certified plastic surgeon who can go over the individual procedures and develop a surgical plan for you.

Answer: Extra back skin This is a very difficult area as scars on this region can be unsightly even with perfect technique. Unless the skin excess is severe I suggest doing ultrasound or laser assisted liposuction first to remove fat and tighten the skin. If after this is done there is still too much skin then direct excision would be the next logical step provided the scar consequences are acceptable.
