I am posting this for a friend here in Thailand. She had surgery recently and was left with several scars, but the one on her arm is especially troubling to her. The surgery occurred in early May and she was in the hospital recovering for four weeks. Her concern is with the long and thick scar this has left rather than the oval scar at the wrist. What are her options for removing this scar.

Large scar on the arm
Scars in general improve over time. Based on the photo, she has hypertrophic/keloid scar. She should massage on the scar and avoid UV light (Sun). Kenalog injection can flatten the raised scar. She can also get a scar revision and have her plastic surgeon follow up on her closely for recurrent hypertrophic scar. Best wishes.
