Pain at Intravenous Site

Thank you for the question. Without any other signs or symptoms, it is likely that you have some inflammation around the IV site. This will subside with time and/or the help of anti-inflammatories and warm compresses. If you notice redness, swelling, fevers or any other site of infection you should follow up with your physician ASAP. I hope this helps.

Breast Surgery

First of all you should either contact your surgeon or the surgical facility where the surgery was performed. It may be normal or an inflammation or possible infection of the IV site. Oh course if the IV site becomes red, swollen or you have a temperature, then you need to be evaluated and treated immediately.
