One of the nice things about being nearsighted is the ability to see without glasses up close without glasses. Those who are in their mid-forties, who take their glasses off to read may be candidates for surgery in only one eye. May consider leaving as is.....

One eye LASIK cost varies by market and treatment selected. A rough range is $1500-$2000. However, if you have a natural monovision where your nearsighted eye is close to -1.50 you may want to hold on correction. You will be less dependent on readers in your mid forties having a naturally nearsighted eye.
