A couple hours ago I got lip fillers, but my philtrum looks so duck looking and big and sticks out! I hope it's just swelling, will this go away soon and look normal again?
Answer: Philtrum swelling after Juvederm Hello Lailaa2213,It is normal to have swelling after any filler. The lips tend to swell more so than other areas. If this is related to swelling then within about 2 weeks it should have settled down. However, if the duck look is because you were over injected then it can take up to a year for it to naturally go away. You could also simply inject an enzyme to dissolve the Juvederm before that if you aren't pleased with the look. In either case you should discuss this with your injector.I hope this helps and good luck.

Answer: Swelling Of course it is swelling. It can also depend on the type of material injected (some HA are more hydrofilic than Others), the amount injected and the level of injection (submucosal or submuscular). Be careful when using icepacks not to have them directly in cointact with the lips, otherwise you risk a ice burn

Answer: Will my philtrum go down and back to normal after my lip fillers swelling goes down? Swelling following fillers in the lips is very common. It may take a couple of weeks for the swelling to completely resolve. Cold compresses can speed up the process.

Answer: FIller Swelling I always tell my patients to not love their filler injections for 2 weeks. Swelling is very common and sometimes immediate. It can last 3-7 days and a good idea is to use cold compresses. Cold compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling only if needed. This may be applied for 3 minutes, 3 times per day, for up to 3 days. This is best done with a bag of peas in a zip lock bag. Only apply light pressure to the area but gentle massage might be necessary if the bump is from the filler material itself. Get Arnica gel if you can find some and apply a few times a day as well to help treat any swelling. Avoid any blood thinners. Bruising can also last 1-2 weeks. I don't recommend hyaluronidase this early and wait a few weeks until the swelling has resolved. If it is persistent or you are worried, set up a follow up appointment with your dermatologist.
