Nasal cycle unusually strong an indicator of turbinate dysfunction?

My breathing is mostly just through one nostril at a time, I know this is a common phenomenon but I had read that in cases such as mine where it blocks completely on the other side you can have turbinate reduction to improve symptoms. Is this something worth considering?
