When Artefill first got publicity, it was stated that this lasted a very long time (if not forever). Can anyone tell me if they have had Artefill and for how long and if they feel this is better than the fillers out there now. thank you.

yeah, really weird how no one is talking about artefill. maybe they aren't producing enough to make a big market push. bet they did a press release to keep investors happy.

I too am interested in Artefill. I have received Juvederm Ultra Plus and am content with the results, but I know that it will not last forever, so I may be willing to pay a few grand for something longer lasting. A bit of advice...you will need to find a doctor who is skilled, artistic and experienced. They are few and far between. I got lucky, but only on my third try. I found a great dermatologist in the Chicago area with loads of experience and am finally happy. Dr. (who will remain nameless - he sees people only by referral) did tell me that anyone can have a bad outcome, but that the patient should be made aware of what these bad outcomes may be and what can be done to correct them if they occur. This is especially important when it comes to a long-lasting product like Artefill. Is there anyone out there who had Artefill (or Artecoll) years ago? What is your experience?

I am a pharma rep who sees both dematologists and plastic surgeons. I have seen alot of both good & bad offices procedures, etc. Artefill is still very new, and most docstor are just beginning to offer it. The distribution of Artefill is being tightly regulated & not much is available. The general opinion is that it is a good product, but not for the "beginner" patient. The recommendation is that you start with Restalyn or Juvaderm, see if you like the look, like the results. Then, once it has worn off, move to Artefill, which is more permanent. There are no "official" studies past one year as far as results, but it should be assumed that this will last for quite a long time, so you must be committed to "the look" ( Think - will it look weird, when I am 70 yrs old & the rest of my face has sagged? ) On choosing your doctor - I'd go to a dermatologist myself, they have studied the skin exclusively & have a deep understanding of it's structure & seem better at injecting into the delicate regions of the face. Just a personal observation. Do not go to a "day spa" for any of these procedures. Do not try to save a few dollars. Spend the money with the best doctor in your area. He or she has had plenty of patients before you on which to hone their skills. Your face is not where you want to be bargain shopping - I've seen some pretty awful botched jobs that take a true expert to correct.

Artefill seems to be working pretty well for me. Lasts longer than other fillers. Costs 1,500$ for .8cc and 750$ for .4cc in NY.

I'VE HAD 2 1.3 CC SYRINGES OF BIOFORM (RADIANCE) WITHIN THE PAST 10 MONTHS. THIS FILLER WAS SAID TO BE "PERMANENT" EACH 1.3CC SYRINGE COST $1000.00. THIS IS IN FL. WHERE THINGS ARE A BIT CHEAPER. IS ARTEFILL THE SAME AS RADIENCE? IF NOT WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE, AND HOW LONG, EXACTLY IS PERMANENT?

I had a facelift about 13 years ago in CR. very pleased. but want to keep what i have with fillers. have been doing radiance, radiesse for about 3 years then quit due to fact that it doesnt last very long. I was paying 500/cc. in CR. just had Artefill three days ago, bruising and achy but not untolerable. less painful than radiance which I found burned for 4 days, anyways very pleased at this point, feel bloated in my face due to bruising and swelling but still very pleased. I went to altamonte springs, fl and got a two for one. brought my cousin, we both got 2cc of artefill, for 1k instead of the 1800k they wanted here near west palm. it was worth the drive to save 2k. anyways went to board certified plastic surgeon that have been doing fillers for years. sorry if this msg is redunant, as didnt see post. thanks.

can anyone recommend a dr. in new york city area for artefill? and expected cost for n/b folds and marionette lines? cost isn't as important as finding a good doc.

There are many very safe and effective products available and FDA approved which give a safe and natural result. Hyaluronic acid such as Restylane and Juvederm and bovine collagen, cosmoderm, cosmoplast, zyderm, zyplast are very safe and create a very good result. They are temporary agents, but particularly with hyaluronic acid, I can get them to last at least a year. I worry about using permanent products in the face such as Artefill, Artecoll or silicone. With permanent fillers, you can get permanent problems and this has to do with our immune respone to them. They are man-made, not biologic (naturally occuring). Please use caution and do your research before deciding whether or not to use a permanent filler.
