Arnica and Bromelain: Homeopathic medications which may help
Arnica and Bromelain are homeopathic medications derived from natural sources and usually taken orally. They have a laundry list of non-specific effects which can help decrease bruising and swelling. There is really no scientific evidence that they do significantly help with this and there is no defined dose, but these medications should not hurt you before or after your surgery. Arnica Montana and Bromelain are commonly used supplements often recommended by Naturopaths, Pharmacists and Homeopaths as a method of reducing bruising and swelling associated with surgery. Specifically packaged combinations of these are used in some Plastic Surgery offices but certainly not a majority. These agents have been studied and for the most part are considered safe. Arnica and Bromelain Generally Safe Pre- and Post- Tummy Tuck
Arnica and Bromelain are common homeopathic medications used for reduce swelling, bruising, and hopefully acclerate healing after surgery. Discuss the dosages and when to take the medications, but most plastic surgeons and anesthesiologists will probably think it's OK to take pre- and post- tummy tuck surgery.
