I used apple cider vinegar on what i thought looked like a small mole on my thigh-stupid,i know! it irritated it,and changed the appearance so that my dr. recommended a punch biopsy since she couldn't determine if it were suspicious. results came back a "probable response to arthropod assault".my questions is could the ACV changed the pathology of the specimen b/c of the inflammation and made it look like it wasn't a mole when it actually was. and should I repeat the biopsy once it has healed?

Inflammation can affect biopsy readings, but...

Inflammation as a result of anything can affect the read out that you get from a pathologist.  I guess the first question is did you really have a mole (or as we call it in the trade a nevus)?  Even if a nevus is inflammed, any dermatopathologist should be able to indentify nevus cells fairly easily under the microscope.  If they read it out as an arthopod assault, I would bet a cell type called eosinophils were predominate in the inflammation.  Irritant / contact... more
