Do Doctors Give Anti-Clotting Injections?

I read a review where a patient was given an anti-clotting self injectable medicine which they use twice a day, but they didn't say the length of time it was used. Is this something all doctors give? Do doctors give anti-clotting medicine to their patients? No one in the reviews I've read (except this one) has mentioned it.

Love Vitamedica! When I started, I phased them in 1, 2, 3. I've been taking 3am, 3pm. I'm convinced they speed healing & boost your mood and energy :):) I started about 2 wks pre-op & am almost finished w/2 wks post-op. I can tell if I forget to take them! I think the bloodthinner

may be preventive but not sure - I didn't ask. It was fine w me since my surgery was long & my dad had clotting issues...

The clotting in family may have been the reason. Best be safe than sorry. Dumb me was taking the vitamins twice a day. Happen to be reading the instructions and came across where I am suppose to be taking them 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening. So I will take it from here and do what is required. My TT is Monday. I am ready. My electronic recliner is to be delivered on Friday. I am renting it for a month. I had my pre-op last week. Ready, but seriously nervous. Thanks for responding. Really appreciate it. Hi ShowMe, thanks for responding. I was wondering was there a reason for anti clogging or not. Does age have something to do with I. I want sure. I had. Ba with no problems & hoping my tt will go just as smooth. I notice you take the same vitamins as I do, how many do you take of each?

Hi Tucson, My PS gave me a week's supply of blood thinning shots to administer at home after surgery. My caregivers gave me the daily subcutaneous shot & I even gave myself one. The medicine was Arixtra, and it came in safety syringes that were preloaded. Easy peasy!
