I had Juvederm injected in the bridge of my nose about 1 month ago. I like the result, however, I would like to do a permanent rhinoplasty surgery so I don't have to always come back for refill. I would also like to rebuild my nose tip by using ear cartilage at the same time. I am wondering if it is possible to have my filler dissolved with an injection of hyaluronidase and perform the rhinoplasty surgery 48 hours later? Could anyone help answer my question please?
Answer: Rhinoplasty after hyaluronidase In general, yes. Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed 48 hours after having hyaluronidase injected. Although, we recommend a week between the hyaluronidase injection before proceeding with rhinoplasty surgery to give it more time to dissolve the product.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hi Anna Maria,This is a good question. I would recommend waiting for the effect of the collagen filler to go away completely prior to evaluating your nose for cosmetic rhinoplasty. Injecting hyaluronidase does dissolve collagen but it may not dissolve all of it and thus interfere with preoperstive analysis. Depending on your particular situation I would also consider using other types of cartilage for the tip of your nose aside from conchal cartilage. Cartilage from the septum (inside your nose) is ideal for cosmetic tip work and it doesn't require any additional external incisions to retrieve. This may also improve your breathing.Best Regards

Answer: HA and rhinoplasty You question ventures into somewhat uncharted territory. I see the fillers as something meant and understood to be temporary and with the expectation that may have to be redone. Rhinoplasty surgery, on the other hand, is intended to be hopefully performed once and not required to be revised. The situation you pose has a number of unknowns, including whether there may be residual edema 48 hours later and whether there be residual HA 48 hours later. The impact for you may be that your dorsum is recontoured while there is still a significant variable present, hence, putting you at risk of needing a surgical revision later.I would recommend you wait longer - most likely in the range of several weeks - how long is a debatable topic.Fred G. Answer: Can I have rhinoplasty immediately right after having juvederm dissolved with an injection of hyaluronidase? There should not be a problem with going forward with rhinoplasty. It takes 2-3 days to see effects of hyaloronidase. By the time your surgery is scheduled - you should be fine- in my opinion

Answer: Dissolving Juvederm Dancing deer, Wow, great question! The hyaluronidase should start dissolving the filler right away and its effect will be noticeable in two days. My preference would be to start the hyaluromidase two weeks prior to surgery or more and repeat to be sure all of the filler is gone prior to formal rhinoplasty surgery. However, if your surgeon did your injections to help you get an idea of what a rhinoplasty would look like and has an idea of the amount of the filler present, if they are recommending two days then that should be fine. You should also have an idea if all the filler has been dissolved by feeling it. Stay strong, well informed and educated!!!
