I'm thinking about getting the Brazilian Butt Lift for a very long time and I've heard that fat gets reabsorbed back into the body anywhere from 20% to 60% or even all of the injected fat. If the fat is injected under the muscle, is it proven that the rate of absorption significantly less?

How to improve long term results during brazilian buttock lift

Injecting fat deep within the gluteal muscle has been shown to improve the long term survival of the fat cells and therefore give a longer lasting effect.  The blood supply is more pronounced in the muscle and that is why the newly transferred fat cells have a greater chance of surviving. Fat injected just above the muscle (deep subcutaneous layer) can also do reasonably well. Best wishes, Dr. Bruno

The influence of injecting fat into muscle during Brazilian Buttock Lift

Injecting the fat into the muscle when performing a brazilian butt lift will likely result in a higher percentage of fat graft survival. However, the fact that so many factors influence fat graft survival, make it difficult to determine the exact influence.

Brazilian Butt Lift: Fat is injected into Muscle

Fat definitely survives better when it's injected into the muscle. I generally inject the fat at multiple levels in the muscle.
