Hello, I'm 26 years old who did a FUE surgery 5 days ago with about 1500 grafts. I still haven't washed my recipient area except with pouring water mixed with baby shampoo on it. nothinh much have actually changed regarding to scaps, blood ..etc The thing is my doctor told me that he wants to do a peeling skin treatment to get rid of the scaps after 7 days exactly. is it safe to do such thing before the 10-12 days post surgery -dont touch rule-? is peeling skin an effective treatment? Thanks
Answer: Treatment to remove scabs following an FUE hair restoration. Dear Zaid89,I am not familiar with the "peeling skin" treatment that you're referring to. The tiny pieces of skin still attached to the follicles will slough off naturally in time, without any treatment. What I have our patients do following an ARTAS robotic FUE hair restoration is the following:1) wait 9 days following your hair transplant2) put a generous amount of clean baby oil onto the transplanted area and leave for 30 minutes3) get in the shower and shampoo your hair twiceFollowing this procedure that you can do at home, most, if not all, of the scabs and dried skin should leave the transplanted area and reveal only the transplanted hairs.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Follow your doctors advice You need to follow up with your doctor and his/her post operative plan.In general we see our patients back the next day and start the hair wash (next day). The Internet is not a place to receive personal medical care/ advise - especially post-surgical treatment plan.

Answer: Scalp care after hair transplant surgery If you have trusted a doctor to do your hair transplant surgery, it would make sense that you trust their advice on the follow up care routine they advocate after the surgery they have performed on you. After all, it is that doctor who will be responsible for the end result. Different hair transplant surgeons have different routines. One is not necessarily better than another and nor is there a 'right' or a 'wrong' regime.

Answer: You should be patient Fue, especially with newer devices like neograft or artas, can produce great results if you let the natural course take action. You should also get more details on what the peeling skin treatment is just out of curiosity.

Answer: Pealing the scabs off after a hair transplant NO, NO, NO, that is the worst thing that you can do. I wrote an article about this and what I concluded was that people who pealed or pulled off the scabs from the recipient site, lost their hair forever. Don't do it, just wash it regularly and wait unitil they fall out on their own.
