Keloid treatment options
Apart from intralesional cortisone injections which are the mainstay of therapy, liquid nitrogen cryotherapy is often used effectively. Other options include surgical excision of the keloid scar or radiation. Topical imiquimod cream may also provide benefit, usually after a keloid has been excised to reduce risk of recurrence.
