Would OHIP cover a breast lift? I have lost 63lbs. since Sept 2014 til now.... because my GP took to long in diagnosing that I had C. Difficile. It took my Dermatologist to "yell" at him. He quickly got me in and did the stool tests... But now that I've lost so much weight, my breasts look deformed.
Answer: Breast lifts and coverage Thanks for this question.Unfortunately OHIP does not cover breast lifts for weight loss. If you still have large breasts and have neck and back pain, then you could see a Plastic Surgeon for a breast reduction. These are frequently covered by OHIP. A breast lift is part of the breast reduction procedure.

Answer: Breast lift and insurance Breast lifts are pretty universally considered cosmetic. The only coverage that occurs is when it is done to match a reconstructed breast following mastectomy. All the best.

Answer: Breast lift coverage by insurance? Insurance companies in general do not cover the cost of breast lift surgery, except when there is a diagnosis of breast cancer and the lift is being done as part of the reconstruction efforts (usually on non-affected side for symmetry). If you do decide on having breast lift for improvement in the aesthetic appearance of your breasts, I would suggest waiting until you have achieved a stable weight for 6 months. Fluctuations in weight (and often breast size) can affect their appearnce. Once you have been at a stable weight for 6 months, schedule a consultation with a plastic surgeon and learn about your options and what approach will be right for you. Good luck!
