Does Alcohol Consumption After Rhinoplasty Permanently Effect Rhinoplasty Results or Just Lengthen Swelling Time?

I am very concerned I ruined the potential end result.

Alcohol Consumption in Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty results are not currently adversely affected by alcohol consumption, however, it may prolong some swelling early post operatively. That is why I don’t recommend alcohol consumption for 3 weeks after any cosmetic procedure.

The answer is both.  Alcohol can cause bleeding, if consumed in large quantities, after a Rhinoplasty.  The bleeding creates swelling but also internal scar tissue formation that blunts the final result.

Alcohol Consumption After Rhinoplasty....NOT!

Dear Oregon Ducks,

It was a poor decision to watch that first game beating that the Oregon Ducks suffered at the hand of  LSU right after your rhinoplasty.  That  beating drove many a die hard Duck fan to drink.  Whether it effects your rhinoplasty results depends on how much you drank, how soon after, and how many times you fell on your face.  You should share your concerns with your rhinoplasty surgeon. Good luck with the rest of the season and be well.
