Can your breast skin start to atrophy and how can you tell if it is?

I hear that breast tissue can deteriorate , would this include the outer skin on breast also ? What is happening to the skin when it atrophies ? How can it be prevented ? Thank you.

The skin of the breast can atrophy with aging and sun damage. The soft tissue of the breast and breast tissue can't atrophy or shrink down after pregnancies and weight-loss.
Rarely when large implants are placed under the breast (as opposed to under muscle0 over the years the skin may stretch and sag. Signs would be sagging and thinning of the skin. In situations like this a supportive sling of acellular dermis may help.
