7 weeks following a Lower Facelift, what can I do to help the discomfort where the stitches were.

I went to my surgeon today for a follow up and told him of pain that felt like sharp slivers of glass where the stitches were. He didn't offer me any solution to help it. He just said some people experience more pain than others. Should I massage the area? Should I put cream on the area? I feel pulling. Is it gravity pulling sown at the stitched area? I look Fantastic but I have these feelings of sharp sticking and pulling. It feels better when I use a compression bandage at night.
