This knot feels like it's prssing on my lungs making me short of breath and causing my heart to beat faster than normal.... At a post op appointments (I'm about 5 weeks out now), the doctor didn't seem too concerned.....stating that it "should" be hard because he just sewed the muscles together..and that I'm healing "normally" However, it feels like I have a "rock" inside me cutting off my air so that i can only take shallow breaths... does NOT feel normal. (sorry, do not have camera/scanner_.

Tummy Tuck Complication?

Thank you for the question. Although the sensation of firmness superficially may be normal ( as your surgeon pointed out during your follow-up visit), the difficulties with respiration and faster heartbeat are not normal. I would suggest that you contact your plastic surgeon again emphasizing these symptoms. it may be necessary to rule out problems such as pneumonia or pulmonary embolism. Best wishes. see video

Breathing Problems after Tummy Tuck

Significant shortness of breath and fast heart rate after surgery is not normal and may mean that a person has a blot clot in their lungs - a very serious problem. This requires urgent evaluation.
