Breast Augmentation after a Tummy Tuck

Ideally, if your surgeon agrees, you should consider having them both done at the same time, which will save you not only expense, but anesthesia time, and recovery time. However, I do recall one patient who insisted that she wanted to separate the two procedures, which was absolutely her choice, and I performed augmentation mammoplasty two weeks after her abdominoplasty surgery. Breast Augmentation after Tummy Tuck

While the tummy tuck and breast augmentation can be performed at the same time in many cases, the interval will vary if the surgeries are performed in stages. The timing between the tummy tuck and the breast augmentation varies based on the scope of the abdominoplasty, the patient's overall health and healing ability, the patient's needs and objectives, and the philosophy of the surgeon. More conservative surgeons may wait for several months while more aggressive surgeons perform the surgery... more

Staged breast augmentation and abdominoplasty

If you are going to complete the surgeries in stages, I don't think that there is a right or wrong answer on the timing. I think that from a healthy or safety standpoint, you could complete the second procedure within a week of the first. If you are wanting to complete most of the recovery first, you could wait anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months between procedures. I would personally suggest having them done simultaneously.

How soon after a TT can a breast aug be done

I usually perform both procedures at the same time for 3 reasons: 1. Patient saves about $500 when both are combined 2. Why risk going under general anesthesia twice 3. There is no waiting time between the two procedures There is no risk undergoing both procedures at the same time. Hope this helps, Dr. H

How long should you wait?

It is best to fully recover from a tummy tuck and be totally independent without complications before undergong another procedure. This could take 6 weeks to 3 months.

Tummy tuck and breast augmentation

The timing of these two surgeries should be discussed with your own surgeon. Some tummy tucks will impact the future augmentation if the inframammary fold is displaced. Many can be done simultaneously. Robin T. W. Yuan, M.D.

Tummy tuck

Youncould either have both procedures done at the same time or separately. You may be able to save money by doing them at the same time. Otherwise, you should be able to undergo the second procedure as soon as 2 or 3 weeks after the first.

Breast augmentation and Tummy Tuck combination

I have done breast implant placement through the tummy tuck approach leaving no breast or axillary scars. The combination will eliminate your second stage and reduces the time for recovery to only one procedure. Talk to your surgeon about this consideration as an option for you.

Timing between cosmetic surgeries

After a tummy tuck, I would recommend waiting about 3 months for your body to recover from the surgery before getting more surgery for a breast augmentation. However, you can also have the two procedures done at the same time. Good luck! Dr. Schreiber...Baltimore Plastic Surgeon see video

How Soon After a TT Can I Have Breast Augmentation?

I would think 3 months would be good period to have the second surgery although both can be performed together .Going for 2 stages does mean less complication rate but more expansive.
