After Laser Hair Removal, Does Hair Grow Back Thicker or Longer?
Doctor Answers (1)
Laser hair removal usually does not produce thicker hair
Most of the time that patients have laser hair removal they have long term hair reduction, both in rate of hair growth and diameter of hair. There are rare cases of paradoxical increased hair growth and this has occurred in Mediterranean skin types. It may be that the physician is forced to using lower than average energies so as not to create blistering in darker skin, and the subclinical energies might stimulate the hair growth. A few cases are known by physicians discussing this at conferences, but it has not been adequately studied.
