What Affect Does Jaw Surgery Have on Skin in Older Patients?

I'm due to have double jaw surgery at the end of the year but have heard that in older patients this can result in saggy skin and heavy jowls. Contradicting this I've heard that any excess skin from maxillary impaction is compensated for when the lower jaw is brought forward. Can anyone comment on how 'older' (I'm 33) patients respond to such surgery and whether a face lift becomes necessary?
