Addicted to Demerol?

Prior to having a hysterectomy this past Monday, I was experiencing alot to abdominal pain. I was taking Demerol 4 times a day/everyday for over a month a half. Now when I try to stop taking the Demerol I am in horrible pain and feel worse. I think my body may have become addicted to the Demerol. Could you please assist me on the best way to ween myself off the Dermerol? Sincerely Eliza
