my son is in the middle of his fifth month on accutane his white blood count has dropped slightly. His dr. wants to stop the medicine for two weeks pending another blood test. has anyone ever seen this happen?

Accutane and White Blood Count
Well, first, it depends on what you mean by "slightly". His count could drop because of any type of cold, infection, or a number of other things. Two weeks is usually not enough time anyway to see much of a difference, but it's also not going to cause major issues for him to be off the Accutane for these weeks, especially if he's already been on it for 5 months. I wouldn't worry about it, but if you want him to take the blood test, it's fine.
