Active FX is a fractioanl CO2 laser, so it is not an either/or situation. There are tradional fully ablative CO2 lasers, which are typically less expensive given the equipment is outdated and therefore less expensive. Active FX, Deep FX, and Total FX are all fractional CO2 laser treatments by the Lumenis Ultrapulse Encore, which is an exceptional laser. I highly recommend having treatments with this CO2 laser and I would avoid any fully ablative/traditional CO2 laser treatments as they have many undesirable side effects/risks which have been eliminate or significantly reduced with the newer fractioanl technology.
