Differin is effective for acne - you wont' be immune to it with the 2nd treatment

Differin is a retinoid that exfoliates the skin cells, keeping your pores clear to prevent acne. (It works similarly to Retin A and Tazorac but seem feel it may be more gentle).   It also has an anti-inflammatory effect  on red swollen papules and pustules.  There are several forms - 0.1% gel, 0. 3% gel, 0.1 % cream and the new 0.1% lotion.  It is best to use it  at night .  The side effects include dryness, redness, flaking.  It is okay to use with a... more

Differin Gel is Effective on 2nd Treatment

Differin should be effective no matter how many times you have used it.  Your body does not build up a resistance or "get used to" the medication.  Good luck.

Differin is very effective for acne.

Differin is a brand name of the group of acne medications called retinoids. The topical retinoids are cousins to the pill form isotretinion (brand name Accutane). It is effective when used properly, for many types of acne. The trick is in HOW it is used. See your board-certified dermatologist (make sure it's one that pays attention to you and your acne in detail and doesn't rush you through) for the best advice for how to make retinoids work for you without causing side effects... more

Differin 0.3% gel or Epiduo gel should be more efficacious than Differin 0.1% gel

Differin is the brand name of adapalene, which is in the family of topical retinoids and is effective in treating comedonal acne. According to the phase III clinical trials, Differin 0.3% gel or Epiduo gel may work better for inflammatory acne lesions.

If Differin worked before, it should work again

Differin is a brand name  medicine of adapalene, one type of topical retinoid which is commonly used to treat acne.  There are several different topical retinoids currently available on the market.  They work by binding to retinoid receptors which ultimately leads to improvements in skin cells themselves and less clogging of pores.  If Differin worked for a patient before, it should work again.  Using it, or another topical retinoid, in the past should not... more

Yes, Differin is effective for comedonal acne

Differin is an acne medication that can be very effective for comedonal acne. If it worked for you two years ago, it should work again. The strength has increased in the newer generation of Differin, so I would ask your dermatologist for a new prescription for the 0.3% strength.

Differin Certainly Effective for Treating Acne a 2nd Time

If Differin was effectilve before it will be effective again. Actually it might be even more effective since they have tripled the strength. It now comes in 0.3 gel, when you used it before it was 0.1 cream or gel. I have prescribed it quite a bilt and have had no more irritancy complaints with the 0.3 than I saw with the 0.1. Other dermatologists I have spoken to seem to be sharing this opinion.
