Like nearly every blog I've read, I've tried everything for my acne, and now have decided on Accutane. I am taking 80mg a day, which is a high dose for my weight of 125lbs. I do not have cystic acne, but stubborn superficial acne on my face and back. I am half way through my 4th month, and have only seen mild results. I saw my derm today, desperate to know why I have not had better results. He decided to extend the drug to 6 months, but I am discouraged that I will not respond. Thoughts? Advice?

Accutane, acne

This is a high dose of accutane. If you are not getting results, consider other factors for your acne. Dairy products, a high glycemic diet, hormonal imbalances, makeups - all can contribute to acne. Discuss these with your doctor.
