Operative Report for TT: How Detailed?

I had a TT 4 yrs ago w/disappointing results. I'm flat below navel and look pregnant from waist up. I recently got my Operative Report from my surgeon to see what he did during operation before I looked into what, if any improvement could be made. The report makes no mention of lipo which I was told was performed. Would the report mention it if it was done? It does seem as if I had lipo on lower ab but now I'm not sure. I'd like to know before I meet w/the surgeon again to discuss my options.

Sorry about the disappointing results. If liposuction was performed, the operative report should indicate that it was done. To be clear, the area above the umbilicus is only conservatively liposuctioned during a tummy tuck. This area of blood supply is critical to maintain to allow healing. The operative report if complete should list all procedures that were performed. You can always ask the surgeon but if it was a while ago, I doubt he would remember,

Was lipo done with first tummy tuck: Persistent upper abdominal fullness

If liposuciton was performed at the initial procedure, it should be included in the operative note. If not you could confirm with the nurses notes which would likely indicate the volume of fat removed as well. However, it is most likely that you underwent removal of the fat by excising it with the skin. Your bulge on the upper abdomen is likely due to fat or possibly a muscle separation. Meet with a plastic surgeon to help you determine which it is. see video

Tummy tuck usually done with liposuction.

Hi. The issue is one of trust. If you think (right or wrong) that your surgeon did not do something he said he did, you are better off starting fresh.

The main thing you need to see in the note is whether you had muscle tightening ABOVE the umbilicus. If not you probably had just a mini tummy tuck and that may be why you look that way..
