I Had a Abdominoplasty with Liposuction and Weird Appearance on my Abdomen?

I look like I have a mini butt crack on my abdomen following my surgery. The skin was pulled together and my belly button is set super deep in my stomach. Is this normal? My doctor says it is because he wants a natural line above my umbilicus and he wants a nice crease above it but all the images I have seen do not resemble what my belly looks like. Should I be concerned?

Abdominal weird appearance post tummy tuck

Dear Trish 12, Without photographs and physical examination it is hard to give a definitive answer to your questions. Nonetheless, swelling could be one of the reasons why you "super deep" belly button and it could take several months (up to 12) for swelling to be completely resolved and final results obtained. I encourage you to give it some more time (although I do not know how long has it been since your surgery). Revisions could be an option... more

Mini Butt Crack After Abdominoplasty

Dear Trish 12, Photos would be very helpful in discussing your question. However, there can be a fair amount of swelling after abdominoplasty surgery. It may take weeks or even months before you see your final results. You do not mention how many days post-op so it is hard to tell if swelling is the issue. Continue to follow up with your surgeon and if you are not satisfied with your answers then perhaps a second opinion may be helpful. Good luck. more

Belly

Hello, Usually after surgery you are swollen for about 6-9 months. Without pictures its hard to determine what can be causing that. I would talk to you surgeon and give your body time to heal.

Abdominal appearance

Photos would be nice to see to evaluate what you are concerned about. An exam would be essential as well.

Weird appearance to umbilicus (belly button) after abdominoplasty

Photos would really help. If the umbilicus is just a slit, that can be revised and improved. If your PS cannot help you, you might seek the opinion of another board certified PS. Best of luck to you.
