Abdominoplasty, diastasis recti - what is this painful lump just under rib cage?

Surgery on 12/5, the drains out on day 4, everything healing well. My CS said there was a 3 1/2 inch gap where the diastasis was repaired. Now, there is a painful area, just under the xiphoid process on the left side of the repair line. I had a couple bad coughing spells during the first few weeks (wow - are those painful), and that is when I noticed this lumpy area. It feels like it is being torn apart when I cough, sneeze, etc. Does this mean that repair is compromised? Like tearing?
