Is It Possible/a Good Idea to Have Multiple Facial Procedures Done at the Same Time?

On a functional level I have been told I may need upper and lower jaw surgery to correct growth issues - as part of my orthodontic treatment. Cosmetically, I am also interested in correcting my deviated septum and getting cheek implants. Is it possible and safe to have this done at the same time (I'm a bit concerned as it is all in the one area)? Is a maxillofacial surgeon able to perform these procedures or should I consult with a plastic surgeon regarding my nose and cheeks. Thanks.

Is It Possible/a Good Idea to Have Multiple Facial Procedures Done at the Same Time?

Seems logical to have the Cheek Implants and Rhinoplasty about 1 year after the Maxillary surgery as this will have an effect on the shape of the nose and the size of the cheeks. I'd choose the most experienced surgeon with great aesthetic judgement to perform the Rhinoplasty and Cheek Augmentation with Cheek Implants.

Multiple facial procedures done at the same time

It is best not to have these procedures done at the same time. It is best to have the orthognathic surgery done first to set the maxilla and the mandible in the proper anatomical positions. The patient will be quite swollen from this procedure and this is done usually in a hospital setting. Once full healing from this has taken place after approximately 3-6 months, consideration can be given to cheek implants and nasal surgery.

Multiple Facial Procedures Performed Simultaneously?

Certain facial procedures can be performed at the same time. The ones you describe, namely upper and lower jaw suregry, plus septoplasty and cheek implants may not be able to occur at the same time. It depends on the extent of work to be done in your lower jaw and the effect it could have on your oral airway especially in the face of nasal/ septal work. A well experienced maxillofacial surgeon trained in facial aesthetics or a facial plastics/ reconstructive surgeon should be able to... more

Septoplasty and Cheek Implants with Facial Osteotomies

Without knowing exacly what will be done during facial osteotomies, it is probably best to delay the septoplasty and cheek implants. However, consult with your maxillofacial surgeon. Maxilofacial surgeons are either oral surgeons and/or MD's. Who should do the work depends on your surgons training and experience.

Multiple surgeries

I would not recommend doing the maxilla surgery and mandible surgery at the same time do nasal septu and cheeck implants. delay those for after the jaws surgery
