Will I be able to close my eyes after eyelid surgery?

Temporary dysfunction of the orbicularis muscle (closes the eye) is occasionally seen with eyelid surgery.  If too much skin were resected from the upper lids, a permanent inability to close the eyelids could result but this is highly unlikely if the surgery is performed by someone properly trained.
