There are many factors that will determine the ultimate look of your breasts after preganancy and whether they will sag.
Foremost among these is your decision to nurse. While no one can negate the benefits of nursing, I will briefly review some of the considerations
These include:
- Size of your natural breast
- Size of the implant
- Skin elasticity (worse with smoking and sun exposure)
- Age
- Decision to nurse
- size when nursing
- favored breast when nursing (children/moms tend to use left)
- length of nursing
- bouts of mastitis
- Under versus over the muscle
- Textured versus smooth surface
Many of these factors play a role in the ultimate degree of sagging following completion of pregnancy/nursing.
Clearly this is impossible to predict, but there are some generalizations that can be reviewed.
In the event that you become very large and/or have poor supportive tissues, breasts may sag with implants creating two different potential adverse resutls:
- the "rock in the sock" deformity which is generally seen with over the muscle implants
- the "snoopy" or double-bubble deformity whic occurs more commonly with under the muscle implants.
In either event, I would highly recommend the use of a suportive garment worn 24x7 while nursing or engorged.
I hope this helps!
