Revision eyelid surgery

Nirav Savalia, MD answers: Who should do my Blepharoplasty revision?

I am now 11 1/2 weeks post-quad Blepharoplasty. My doctor is now finally admitting that it may not change. The corner of my left eye is pulled down, and has been so since the day of surgery. I believe that it is in the way it was sewn. It is just the crease of the corner of my eye that is pulled down. My upperlids are uneven, also. For revision, should I go to a plastic surgeon or an opthmologist? I am scared to let the doctor who did this make an attempt with it again despite that it will be for free.

You are correct in noting that there is a problem, and that something should be done.  You should ask your doctor some frank questions regarding how often he/she has corrected with this type of problem, and whether he/she truly feels comfortable dealing with it. Out of a sense of responsibility to you, the surgeon obviously wants to help, but may not be the best person for the job. I would seek opinions from other surgeons as well, and get recommendations or even referrals from them as well.
