Difficult to know for sure, but...

Armando Soto, MD answers: When will right implant settle after Breast Augmentation and Lift?

I am 3 1/2 months post op from a breast lift and augmentation. My left breast is fabulous but my right one is still very high. I've been massaging but don't see any difference. When should I start getting concerned?

Hi there-

Without an exam and some more information, it is very difficult to know exactly what might be causing your problem, but it sounds like you may be experiencing early encapsulation of the implant on your right side.

If this is the case, it is unlikely that anything short of surgery (to remove the scar tissue and allow the implant to descend) will improve the situation if you are 3 months out. Optimally, this would occur ~6 months after your initial surgery.

I would pay a visit to your surgeon to be sure there isn't another problem though- and bear in mind that this doesn't mean your surgeon did anything wrong- even in healthy patients who have surgery with the very best surgeons, this does happen from time to time- but it can be corrected, so talk to your surgeon.
