Botox touch-up after 2 weeks is ideal

Patrick S. Carney, MD answers: When should I go for Botox touch-up?

I had Botox in my forehead and between my brows almost 10 days ago. I do see the lift on my eye area but not in the nasty line between my eyes (my main concern). Is this time to go in for a touch-up or should I wait a little longer?

Whether the physician has injected you with Botox before or you are a new patient, the dosage of Botox provided at your treatment is likely a conservative and close to accurate treatment. Never feel like a follow-up is inappropriate.

In our offices, those of us who inject patients with Botox Cosmetic encourage patient feedback and a follow-up 2 weeks post-treatment to alleviate any disappointment in the treatment.

Good charting and dictation in the office will help to perfect your future treatments and your willingness to communicate your concerns and follow-up is the only way they'll have this opportunity.

Going into an office for a follow-up prior to 2 weeks may not change things tremendously, but could cost you a few more dollars, keeping in mind that when you are charged by the unit, returning pre-maturely may result in a few more units than may have been necessary.

I have every confidence you will find Botox Cosmetic a very positive experience. Thank you for your question.
