Liposuction of the chin or submental area is a very gratifying procedure with sometimes dramatic results when done on the right patient. As long as the skin elasticity of the neck is good then the skin will re drape and shrink a bit after the procedure to take up the slack if you will. The goal of liposuction in the submental area is to pretty much remove all the fat and make this area flat. If you lose or gain weight later on in life there should not be a significant change in the area suctioned because the majority of the fat cells have been removed.
