What does a blepharoplasty do?

Blepharoplasty surgery can result in a more open eye appearance. As one ages, the skin of the upper eyelid descends and can even over time rest on the upper lashes. By removing that excessive skin, a more youthful appearance can be achieved opening up the upper eyelid area and making make-up application easier like eyeliner.

Blepharoplasty surgery involving the lower eyelids usually involves removing excess fat or redistributing the fat to give a less tired appearance. Sometimes there may be excessive skin as well that needs to be removed or wrinkles that can be addressed.
