Restylane is not approved for use in pregnant women

Roxana Cobo, MD answers: Wait until after pregnancy for Restylane?

I'm a 30-ish mother who plans to have another baby. I am seriously unhappy with the wrinkles around my eyes. I was considering having Restylane or some other type of facial injection to treat these lines. I don’t feel comfortable asking my physician if I should wait until after giving birth to give myself a wrinkle erasing.

Restylane is not approved for use in pregnant women, because its effects have not been tested on pregnant women. While it is naturally derived, it still is something that has to be approved for use in pregnant women, and neither is Juvederm, Prevelle or any other dermal filler. Therefore it is a decision you must make with your doctor.
